Welcome!
This is
the first e-journal on English language teaching and
testing in Greece. Created and designed with the
financial support of the PEDYAS project, Directions
is published by the RCEL which has been focusing in
recent years on a large scale programme for national
language exams leading to a Greek state certificate
of language proficiency. The battery is known as KPG
and the exams in English and other European
languages are administered by the Greek Ministry of
National Education, which issues the certificates
for different levels of communicative performance.
Substantial project funding has permitted the senior
and junior research staff of the Centre to conduct
systematic research in language teaching and
testing, and in creating important data bases for
research into English literacies and other areas of
concern to English Studies and educational
linguistics.
